Words Are Pain

Say everything you need to say,
From 1-10 and A-Z.
Pin down every word to make me stay.
Like how it was when we’re far away.

Each phrase is like a sword,
It cuts deep within the skin.
Sentences are tangled like a cord,
Like plastic on a broken fin.

Every banter triggers emotional pain,
Worse than social rejection.
Spills of aftermath that stain,
The part of the brain that requires attention.

For every count in the page of a book,
There’s always a trick with a hook.
Twists at the end of a phrase,
Like a dwindling car chase.

Line by line let’s we’ll start again,
Like how it started in the end.
Just make sure you stay in your lane.
